Out and about Adelaide

I did a Photo Workshop run by the SAPF  a few weeks ago.  It was a 'Street Photography/Photojournalism' workshop and it was a lot of fun!

I have often admired other street photographer's images and was very glad to get the opportunity to try it myself, in the relative safety of a group workshop environment.

The day started with some basic practical instructions on camera settings and we learned about some of the 'greats' in Street photography, then we ventured out as a group into the City.

I hadn't been into the City since Mr Fixit retired from work over 5 years ago and quite a few things had changed ...... the thing that struck me the most was a lot of tall buildings had been built since I was last there .... and we are truly a multicultural city!

Whilst we were there primarily for 'street photography' I could not help but be drawn to some of the beautiful buildings that are now in our gorgeous city.

I will share some more images a bit later.  It certainly did the 'photo mojo' some good getting out and about with other photographers and the sun coming out in the afternoon to reveal these beautiful reflections made the cold early morning start all worthwhile.

If you are thinking about doing a course with SAPF, I can wholeheartedly say 'go for it!'  The course went over 1.5 days (1 full day Saturday workshop/outing, with an evening session held on the following Tuesday to share our images).  Morning Tea & Lunch was provided on Day 1, with coffee/tea available on the evening session.

I was out for the weekly grocery shop and was sitting outside enjoying some lovely sunshine before putting on my mask and going in  ........

2019 Photo Project Report Card

Well, here we are, the 4th day of 2020 and it is time for the 2019 report card.

Change of Seasons

Experimented with photographing a new subject, well new for me

Then later in August, I went for a walk around Port Adelaide


and a few days later, I visited Adelaide Botanic Gardens, with the planes flying right overhead











and then a different thing with wings!




and now, it's officially Spring here in Adelaide ......  but it did seem to come early

Out and about with my camera club

One of my camera clubs had a weekend away to the Barossa - I couldn't do the weekend, but I went up with a few other members just for the day.

Here are some pics from the day out - which was frightfully cold, wet and windy ...... but we had a good time despite the weather!

My July 2018 PACC Competition results

For July, the set subject was Long Exposure, and ofcourse we had the usual 'Open' subject, plus the new 'Phone' category.

Whilst I was a little disappointed with my results for the Long Exposure & Open categories, I was most pleasantly surprised to get a 1st PLACE for my 'Phone' photo :)

Perfect timing!

I went out with some of my camera club friends and another club last week - it was a bit windy at first, but it settled down.

I had the opportunity to go back to Lake Bonney for some night photography.

I failed miserably on the night photography bit, but got a few lovely sunset shots and a few lovely daytime shots :)
